The F3 Cup Championship storms back into life on the legendary Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium this weekend (16-17 June).

A total of 19 entrants have been confirmed including British F3 contender Alex Lynn competing for Lanan Racing, with the field braced for possibly the most challenging circuit on the calendar. Also making a welcome return is 2011 dominator Aaron Steele, this time in an Omicron Dallara F304.

Steele claimed a double win at Spa last year on the way to securing his prize drive at Daytona, and he will be looking to secure outright glory again this time around.

Chris Dittmann in his Dallara F301 leads the championship ahead of Tristan Cliffe's Omicron Motorsport-run Dallara F307 after a successful weekend at Silverstone last time out which saw him claim a win and a second place.

Louis Hamilton-Smith was also a race winner in Northamptonshire, and will hope he can keep his form up at the most demanding track on the venue.

The championship remains close with the top seven separated by under 50 points, and with 25 up for grabs for a race win and two races taking place this weekend, the look of the championship could have a very different look by the end of the weekend, especially if the renowned Belgian weather has an effect!

Dittmann also leads the Trophy Class for cars built between 1997 and 2001, while Cliffe heads the Cup category for more modern machinery. Meanwhile James Ledamun leads the way in Masters class for older machines in his TOMS 036F.

Belgian racer Frank Thomas returns to the series following his Donington Park exploits earlier in the year, and will expect his local knowledge to pay dividends this weekend.
